Fundraisers

Walter Zadow Public School (WZPS) students participate in many fundraisers that support our programs, trips, and resources for students.  Our charities include the Terry Fox Run, Special Olympics Torch Run and ME to WE program for Free the Children Haiti.

Overview of the Proposed Activities

YEAR LONG ACTIVITIES:

  • Breakfast Program - Tues/Wed/Thurs, 8:00-8:20 a.m.  Thanks Esther Donis, Ruth Jones and Laura Tromp.  Donations welcome.
  • Lunches - Lisa Gillan has kindly agreed to organize Wednesday lunches - funds raised go to "Program"
  • Milk Program - will be offered - funds to "Program"
  • ME to WE program for Free the Children - Education, Water, Opportunity, Health & Food for Haiti by Student Council

 

SEPTEMBER

  • Environmental Electronic Recycle Program  - bring in your old electronics and earn $ for WZPS - funds raised $468
  • Terry Fox Run - one of our "Community Fundraisers".  Thanks Mrs. Roberts.
  • Book Fair - a great way to support the Library and classroom libraries - funds raised $3237
  • Veseys Bulbs - bulbs for fall planting - funds raised $2066
  • Craig Cardiff concert at the Library - funds raised $520

 

OCTOBER

  • Dieleman Fundraising - Just in time for the holidays, here's a chance to order gift wrap, kitchen items and home decor - funds raised $3300 
  • School Clothing - Thank you to Mrs. Blockland's grade 5/6 class for organizing the school clothing order -funds raised $408

 

DECEMBER

  • Arnprior Food Bank - The school held a Food Drive for the Arnprior Food Bank
  • Christmas Shopping - a time for children to buy someone special (Mom/ Dad/ Grandparent, etc) a little gift - funds raised $2160
  • Christmas Concert - ticket sales - $1200 ($900 to the Breakfast Program)
  • Ice Cream Cake order - $530 to ME to WE program for Free the Children

 

JANUARY / FEBRUARY / MARCH

  • Book Fair - your second chance to buy quality books and support the school and classroom libraries.  Thanks to Kim Poaps, Margaret McCombe, Katie Clattenburg and Cyndy Recker for organizing these events - funds raised $4028
  • Snowflake Ball (February 24) - Dress up for an evening of fun and dancing with the whole family - $909
  • Little Caesar's Pizza Dough - support the Grade 8 Year End Activities by purchasing pizzas/dips for your freezer
  • Grade 7 class to do a Bake for Change - Free the Children - $600 raised for Ryan's Well

 

APRIL / MAY

  • Education Week BBQ and Open House - Run by the teachers/students. We will be looking for donations for raffle prizes, food for the bake sale and BBQ - funds raised to Program $4374
  • Special Olympics Torch Run - one of our "Community Fundraisers" - thanks to Mrs. Nancy Forrest for volunteering to head this event.
